Neil A. Shaw is a consultant in acoustics and communication technologies. His projects in Asia, Europe, and the Americas include performance, production, and post-production spaces, sacred spaces, corporate meeting and conference facilities, transportation infrastructure and rolling stock, academic buildings, hospitality, cruise ship vessels, and research laboratories as well as research and development activities in acoustics, electro-acoustics, and aero-acoustics.

He studied electrical engineering at the Cooper Union and received his BS Engineering and MS Engineering degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he studied with Richard Stern and William C. Meecham.

He is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America and the Audio Engineering Society, a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and a member of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.

Mr. Shaw is the recipient of the Kenward S. Oliphant Memorial Fellowship in Acoustical Engineering, awarded by the Consulting Engineer Association of California, and the Samuel L. Warner Memorial Medal, awarded by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. He is a member of the California Epsilon chapter of Tau Beta Pi.

Mr. Shaw has served on the faculty of USC’s Thornton School of Music and the Southern California Institute of Architecture.
