Peter Centen recently retired as Vice President R&D Cameras Grass Valley, A Belden Brand and has over 35 years of experience in imaging technology. Peter has been instrumental in transitioning Grass Valley from CCD to inhouse-designed CMOS imagers which enabled the present-day HD, 4K, HDR and HFR imaging. He was the inventor of HD-DPM technology for which an Emmy was awarded in 2003 and for the application in 2015. For his work in broadcast imaging he received the David Sarnoff award in 2016 and was knighted in the order of the Dutch Lion in 2019. He holds a BSc a MSc with honors and a Ph.D. He is a member of the IEEE and SMPTE and has published over 65 journal and conference articles and presented at international conferences. He continues as consultant.
